In support of the development of large-scale superconducting quantum computers, researchers with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, in collaboration with Yokohama National University, Tohoku University, and NEC Corporation, proposed and successfully demonstrated a superconducting circuit that can control many qubits at low temperature. MORE

Q-CTRL, a pioneer of quantum infrastructure software to make quantum technologies useful, today announced newly published results that demonstrate a boost of more than 4X in the size of an optimization problem that can be accurately solved, shown for the first time on a cloud-based, utility-scale IBM quantum computer and outperforming competitive annealer and trapped ion technologies. The recent results solidify Q-CTRL’s position at the forefront of the industry and reset expectations for when and how quantum advantage may arrive. MORE

Quantinuum, the world’s largest integrated quantum computing company, today unveiled the industry’s first quantum computer with 56 trapped-ion qubits. H2-1 has further enhanced its market-leading fidelity and is now impossible for a classical computer to fully simulate. MORE

The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) has announced an investment of 70 million DKK (~US$10.21 million) in Atom Computing, one of the world’s leading quantum technology businesses. On the basis of this investment, the California-based company has chosen Denmark as the location of its European headquarters. MORE

Exclusive interview with Dr Lydia Baril, Head of Quantum, National Centre for Nano Fabrication and Characterization (Nanolab), at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) by Nithyasri Srivathsan, Founder, SheQuantum. MORE

NXP Semiconductors N.V., eleQtron and ParityQC, working together in the QSea consortium of the DLR Quantum Computing Initiative (DLR QCI) , today revealed the first full-stack, ion-trap based quantum computer demonstrator made entirely in Germany. MORE

Singapore has announced an investment of close to S$300 million (~US$222 million) into its National Quantum Strategy (NQS) to advance the growing quantum industry. This initiative, outlined by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, who also serves as Chairman of the National Research Foundation (NRF), aims to strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading hub in the development and deployment of quantum technologies over the next five years. When I founded SheQuantum in 2020, it began as a very small initiative which I never thought would grow and thrive to the level that it is today! It’s so heartening to see registered users, especially women and girls, not only from developed countries and developing countries, but from underdeveloped countries as well! It is very encouraging to see women and girls from all walks of life and from different cultures, regions and backgrounds, joining our SheQuantum community to learn and grow. MORE

Pasqal, a global leader in neutral-atoms quantum computers, today announced a strategic collaboration with Tech Mahindra, a leading global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions to enterprises across industries. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development and adoption of quantum solutions across diverse industries globally. MORE

Connecticut-based Quantum Circuits has raised $26.5 million in an extended Series-B funding round. Led by Sequoia Capital Partners, the round brings the total raised by the quantum computing company since it was established in 2015 to $84m. An aerial view of Yale and New Haven campus. QBird, a Netherlands-based startup, has secured €2.5 million ($2.71M USD) in funding from QDNL Participations, Cottonwood Technology Fund, and regional economic development agency InnovationQuarter, to expedite the growth of its quantum security technology, Falqon®. Founded in 2022, QBird specializes in quantum cryptography (QKD), offering provable security against all forms of attacks. MORE

Alice & Bob, a global leader in the race for fault-tolerant quantum computing, today announces the immediate availability on Google Cloud Marketplace of a new single cat-qubit chip in the ”Boson” series. The company’s signature technology, the cat qubit, is regarded as one of the most promising platforms for the realization of fault-tolerant quantum computers. The launch of Boson 4 marks the first time a cat qubit has become available to the public. MORE

In a first-of-its-kind achievement, the UK has successfully completed commercial flight trials of advanced quantum-based navigation systems that cannot be jammed or spoofed by hostile actors. Global positioning system (GPS) jamming is currently relatively rare and does not directly impact an aircraft’s flight path. However, new quantum-based positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) systems are set to be part of a larger solution to providing a resilient navigation that complements space-based navigation and timing systems. MORE

Exclusive interview with Professor Oliver Buchmueller, Imperial College London, Department of Physics & Senior Researcher at CERN by Nithyasri Srivathsan, Founder, SheQuantum. MORE

Wishing all women and SheQuantummers a Happy International Women’s Day 2024 and a heartfelt, sincere thanks to all women scientists, researchers, and engineers contributing to quantum computing and quantum technologies. Let’s celebrate the tremendous contributions of women in quantum today! #IWD2024 MORE

NVIDIA announced that it will accelerate quantum computing efforts at national supercomputing centers around the world with the open-source NVIDIA CUDA-Q™ platform.
