International Women’s Day 2024

Wishing all women and SheQuantummers a Happy International Women’s Day 2024 and a heartfelt, sincere thanks to all women scientists, researchers, and engineers contributing to quantum computing and quantum technologies. Let’s celebrate the tremendous contributions of women in quantum today! #IWD2024

A special tribute to SheQuantum’s very own Quantum women advisory members

Quantum Women of SheQuantum

Professor Dr Aida Todri Sanial
Full Professor @ TU Eindhoven and Director of Research @ CNRS, France

Aida Todri-Sanial is a Full Professor in the Integrated Circuits Group within the Electrical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she is also the Head of the Nano Computing Research Lab. Her research is primarily focused on physics-based computing, neuromorphic computing and quantum computing. Prior to joining TU/e, she has held several positions at CNRS, STMicroelectronics, Cadence Design System and IBM TJ Watson Research. She is actively involved in editorial roles as an Associate Editor for TCAD and TVLSI. She participates in numerous collaborative European projects and coordinates several, including more recently Horizon EU PHASTRAC project. She is also the recipient of the European Research Council (ERC) Consolidating grant in 2023.

Professor Dr Helena Liebelt
Professor @ Deggendorf Institute of Technology, Germany and Quantum Technical Program Manager @ Intel Labs, EMEA

Helena Liebelt is a professor at Deggondorf Institite of Technology, Germany and an experienced professional with a knack for engineering and a passion for strategy development under challenging circumstances with experience managing research projects, leading teams, working with multiple partners, determining user capabilities and requirements, teaching and planning for future supercomputing architectures. International senior High-Performance Computing (HPC) industry professional, trusted advisor and influencer with over 15 years of experience and a track record in inspiring teams and establishing new products and business models.

Professor Dr Hadiseh Alaeian
Assistant Professor @ Purdue University, USA

Hadiseh Alaeian is an Assistant Professor at Purdue University of the Electrical Engineering and Physics where she is extending her studies to the strongly interacting quantum photonics and quantum photonic gates using Rydberg excitons. She is a researcher in the field of quantum optics, with a focus on correlated photonic systems and quantum technology. Her research has been focused on quantum dynamics and phase transitions in photonic systems including their Bose-Einstein condensation and atominduced photon-photon interactions.

Esther Ras
Dean @ Faculty of Technology, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Netherlands

Esther Ras, Dean @ Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, started as a program manager at the degree programs Forensic Research and Applied Mathematics, both offered at FT at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS).  During this time she also a member of the faculty’s management team, responsible for the Community of Practice portfolio which connects education, research and practice. Working in a Community of Practice is at the core of the faculty’s vision on education and research. On behalf of the faculty, Ras also participates in the Steering Committee ‘Studying without Obstacles’ and has been a member of the AUAS Education and Research Council. Prior to joining the AUAS, Ras worked as a lecturer, team manager and program manager at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, ROC Amsterdam and In holland University of Applied Sciences.
